JOB DESCRIPTION

TMZ is seeking a Digital Video Producer to join a small team in producing short-form video content for its various distribution channels. Responsibilities include producing content aligned with breaking news, developing innovative video ideas aligned with the TMZ brand, and contributing to creative content across TMZ’s social platforms. This position is based in Playa Vista, CA.

Responsibilities

1. Produce and edit daily shows for TMZ’s Snapchat Discover Channel.
2. Utilize analytics on Snapchat to review trends and produce upcoming shows.
3. Produce daily content for TMZ’s TikTok.
4. Assist with production of breaking news videos that accompany editorial.
5. Manage the video production cycle from production through post-production and publishing.
6. Manage video distribution across various platforms.
7. Collaborate with departments to plan and execute daily video production.
8. Partner with social media team to align strategies and production.
9. Lead the digital video team to identify new platforms and develop growth strategies.
10. Develop new video franchise ideas, syndication strategies, and programming opportunities.
11. Confidently pitch and present ideas to the team and stakeholders.

Requirements

1. At least 2 years of experience creating original video content.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, TV/Film Production, or equivalent work experience.
3. Experience using social platforms such as Snapchat and TikTok.
4. Expertise in YouTube development, optimization, and channel management.
5. Experience in concept development, editing, and production of short and long-form videos.
6. Strong knowledge of celebrity and pop culture.
7. Understanding of social media marketing principles.
8. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and After Effects.
9. Experience with script writing and storyboarding is a plus.
10. Self-starter, team-oriented, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
11. Energetic with a positive attitude.

Pursuant to pay disclosure laws, the salary range for this role is $67,600.00 to $75,400.00 annually, dependent on education, skills, experience, and location. The role includes benefits such as medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401(k), paid time off, and other benefits as per plan documents. Benefits for union employees are governed by collective bargaining agreements.
