Job summary

University of California, Berkeley seeks an Assistant/Associate Specialist to develop agentic AI and digital twin technology for AEC-FM applications, in collaboration with LLNL. The role requires travel to LLNL and leadership of milestones.

The team uses operations science and resilience engineering to improve capital projects. The specialist will prototype a building-scale digital twin with real-time energy data and expand to campus-scale and other management uses, reporting on architectures

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent international degree.
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of Lean Construction and Choosing-by-Advantages is a plus.
• Experience with agentic AI frameworks, ML, or autonomous software agents is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a state-of-the-practice review of digital twins with agentic AI in AECFM.
• Evaluate commercial software platforms and campus-scale digital twin capabilities.
• Assist in stakeholder workshops to design methodology and prototype selection.
• Develop a functional prototype agentic-AI digital twin at building scale with real-time energy data.
• Design a framework to integrate BIM data, site features, IoT streams, and AI for simulations.
• Draft deliverables on software/hardware architectures and cybersecurity for LLNL workshops.
