Job Summary
Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Digital Transformation Consultant to lead and support strategic initiatives for a newly established state agency. This plays a critical role in shaping and coordinating enterprise-level digital transformation efforts. The consultant will provide expert-level guidance on aligning technology strategies with organizational goals, modernizing legacy systems, and implementing digital solutions that improve service delivery, efficiency, and accessibility. This role operates under executive direction and requires deep cross-functional expertise, a consultative approach, and the ability to lead and influence state executive leaders and stakeholders at all levels. The position is essential to laying the groundwork for the agency’s long-term IT vision and digital roadmap.
This position requires an employee to be onsite in St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location.
This position is temporary and includes full state fringe benefits; it is anticipated to last one (1) year.
Qualifications
Position requires a minimum of six (6) years of experience in a senior-level IT leadership or IT consulting role, working across organizational boundaries to drive strategic digital transformation or enterprise IT initiatives.
Experience must include:
A master’s degree in information technology, strategic management, public administration, organizational leadership, or a closely related field may substitute for three (3) years of experience; a bachelor’s degree in one of these fields may substitute for two (2) years; and an associate’s degree in one of these fields may substitute for one (1) year.
