Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Technology Project Manager to lead and manage complex, cross‑functional projects involving both software development and hardware infrastructure where applicable.

The role demands a dynamic leader who can bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver high‑impact solutions that align with Client’s IT programme goals.

The role is varied and requires a candidate with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage and inspire cross‑functional project teams, and a proven ability to navigate the challenges of implementing complex IT systems and solutions.

The role will play an important part in managing risks and challenges associated with large‑scale IT projects by identifying potential issues early and mitigating them effectively to safeguard successful outcomes.

The role will involve extensive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to facilitate the seamless integration of software and hardware components.

The Digital Technology Project Manager will be involved in the entire project lifecycle from initial planning, requirements gathering, implementation, testing, and final delivery to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.

This position requires a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, software development life cycles (SDLC), and hardware lifecycle management.

This is a high‑impact role that requires a strategic mindset, the ability to anticipate and mitigate risks, and a passion for driving innovation through technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and progress reports to allow for clear alignment and accountability.
  • Work closely with the Senior IT Programme Manager so all projects adhere to established governance frameworks and methodologies.
  • Set clear expectations with stakeholders, provide regular feedback, and engage project members and leadership to ensure they are motivated and aligned with project objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative and results‑driven environment by encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, resulting in timely resolution of issues that could impact scope, schedule or budget.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans as needed.
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions to address challenges and provide successful outcomes.
  • Act as the primary liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership, so all parties are informed and aligned.
  • Facilitate regular status updates, meetings, and report on and communicate project progress, risks and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to facilitate seamless integration and compatibility between software and hardware systems.
  • Oversee technical design reviews, implementation plans, and testing activities to facilitate project quality and performance.
  • Consider and facilitate compliance with Client’s IT standards, security policies, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • Grade: Principal Consultant / Senior Specialist / Engineering Grade 1 / Assistant Principal, or 10+ years of experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience of IT Project Management.
  • Extensive experience leading projects such as system upgrades, cloud migrations, network deployments, and enterprise software rollouts.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Project Management certifications (essential). e.g. PMP or PRINCE2.
  • ITIL certification or knowledge of IT service‑management processes is a plus.
  • Exceptional leadership, decision‑making, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities, with a strategic mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Adept at balancing competing priorities and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Level 8 degree (or equivalent) in relevant subject area is preferred.
  • Level 9 Masters in relevant field would be advantageous (or equivalent masters).
