Job description

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Product Manager with extensive expertise on the BlackLine platform to drive its adoption and optimization within our organization. This individual will possess deep functional knowledge of BlackLine's intercompany, balance sheet reconciliation, and close modules, combined with a strong understanding of financial processes in large, complex organizations. They will be responsible for supporting BlackLine and the Cadency application — handling support tickets, engaging business stakeholders to gather product feature requirements, managing new releases and upgrades, onboarding new business, and presenting application performance to Finance leadership at regular intervals. This role is critical to ensuring both platforms deliver accurate, efficient financial close and reconciliation capabilities across Finance and Accounting teams globally. Experience and certification on Blackline are required and in Cadency is a plus.

What You'll Do
BlackLine Expertise & Technical Leadership
  • Serve as the primary product expert and functional lead for the BlackLine platform, with deep proficiency across the intercompany, balance sheet reconciliation, and close modules.
  • Possess and maintain expert-level knowledge of BlackLine functionalities, including intercompany hub, transaction matching, reconciliation management, task management, variance analysis, journal entries, and reporting.
  • Lead ongoing optimization of BlackLine configurations to meet evolving business needs, including process automation, workflow improvements, and system integrations.
  • Manage BlackLine application upgrades, new feature releases, and platform enhancements — coordinating testing, communication, training, and documentation.
  • Onboard new business units onto the BlackLine platform, managing end-to-end implementation, configuration, and go-live support.
  • Stay current with BlackLine updates, roadmap, and best practices, proactively recommending improvements to system configuration and functionality.
  • Support the Cadency application alongside BlackLine, providing product management coverage across both platforms.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and collaborate with BlackLine and Cadency support teams and internal IT for timely resolution.
Product Execution & Delivery
  • Define user stories, acceptance criteria, and other product requirements documents based on business stakeholder input.
  • Manage the product backlog and prioritize features and enhancements based on business value and impact.
  • Lead and facilitate agile development sprints, working closely with the development team.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure that product features meet defined requirements.
  • Manage the release process, including communication, training, and documentation for BlackLine and Cadency.
  • Monitor product performance and gather user feedback to identify areas for improvement.
Support & Business Engagement
  • Handle and triage support tickets for BlackLine and Cadency, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication back to business users.
  • Actively engage with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate requirements into actionable product features and enhancements.
  • Present application performance metrics, adoption data, and platform health to leadership and stakeholders at regular intervals.
  • Build strong relationships with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Legal, and business operations teams to ensure both platforms meet their evolving needs.
  • Facilitate end-user training and provide ongoing support to users of BlackLine and Cadency.
Intercompany Accounting, Reconciliation & Close Expertise
  • Possess a thorough understanding of intercompany accounting principles, including intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, eliminations, netting, and consolidation.
  • Deep understanding of balance sheet reconciliation processes, including account certification, variance analysis, and automated matching.
  • Strong grasp of how corporate and local close processes work in large, multinational organizations — including period-end tasks, close calendars, and sign-off workflows.
  • Collaborate with Finance teams to ensure BlackLine and Cadency configurations accurately support intercompany, reconciliation, and close workflows.
  • Ensure platform configurations comply with audit, controls, and financial reporting requirements.
Other Organizational Duties
  • Coach others to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in most or all areas within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values. Anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view.
  • Communicate difficult and complex ideas with the ability to influence.
  • Expert organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Contribute to new products, processes, standards, and/or operational plans in support of achieving functional goals.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in IT, Finance, or a related field of study with 8–10 years of experience in financial systems or a related field. In lieu of a degree, a combination of relevant experience and education will be considered.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience implementing and supporting financial systems, with at least 5 years of hands‑on BlackLine experience across the intercompany, balance sheet reconciliation, and close modules. Proven experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner.
  • Expert-level proficiency in BlackLine (required), including the intercompany hub, reconciliation management, task management, and close modules. Experience with Cadency is a plus.

  • Solid grasp of corporate and local close processes in large, multinational organizations, including close calendars, period-end tasks, and close sign-off workflows.
  • Experience managing support queues, handling escalations, and driving issue resolution across financial system platforms.
  • Experience presenting application performance and product metrics to business and leadership audiences.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, including IT, Finance, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and manage project teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred
