Job summary

South Dakota Public Broadcasting is seeking a Digital Content Producer to craft engaging, fast-paced video stories for statewide audiences. You will shoot, edit, and edit storytelling content from start to finish, and collaborate with the SDPB Entertainment team to expand online presence.

Travel to SDPB-covered events statewide, including evenings and weekends, and produce short-form videos and social content for multiple platforms; strong writing and lighting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• current social media trends, best practices, and content formats across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and emerging digital platforms.
• video production principles, including shooting, lighting, audio capture, and composition for digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• Produce and edit short-form videos optimized for social media, with strong pacing, clarity, and visual appeal.
• Write engaging, concise content for social media, websites, and digital features.
• Identify and develop digital-first story ideas, including behind-the-scenes content, quick-turn videos, interviews, and interactive audience elements.
• Organize and manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail throughout field production and post-production.
