Clermont County Public Library in Ohio seeks a Digital Specialist to support planning, development, and execution of the Library's digital communications, marketing, and programming projects under the department manager.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Create digital content for multiple channels (website, email, social media, presentations)
  • Create, update, and maintain the Library's website in line with brand and accessibility standards
  • Manage email campaigns and subscriber lists
  • Maintain online calendar, event listings, and room bookings
  • Create reports and analyze analytics to guide decisions
  • Assist with form, survey, and training material development
  • Perform duties with reliable attendance and teamwork

The Library is seeking a Digital Specialist to support the planning, development, and execution of the Library's digital communications, marketing, and programming projects under the direction of the department manager. This position focuses on creating, updating, and maintaining digital assets that align with brand standards, accessibility requirements, and marketing goals.

Qualifications

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency required; associates degree preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrates strong technology skills and knowledge of social media, software applications, and website maintenance. Good keyboarding skills and knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets required. Is knowledgeable of basic HTML. Reliable transportation required. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and community events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates Welcoming Behaviors and C.C.P.L. Internal Service Standards to encourage approachability and effective interactions with vendors, guests, and staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Create digital content for distribution across multiple channels including the website, email, presentations, social media, and other digital platforms conforming with library policies and procedures and accessibility guidelines.
  • Create, update, and maintain the Library's website ensuring consistency with Library brand standards and accessibility guidelines.
  • Following current best practices, create, maintain, and execute email campaigns. Update and maintain subscriber lists.
  • Maintain online calendar, enter event listings and room bookings, create reports.
  • Maintain and update reading challenge software, creating seasonal challenges.
  • Regularly review analytics, create reports, make recommendations to department manager.
  • Enter projects, create tasks, assign due dates in project management software.
  • Create forms, surveys, reports, documentation, training, and presentation as requested.
  • Regular and predictable physical attendance.
Additional Examples of Work Performed:
  • Examines new technologies and suggests recommendations to manager.
  • Assists with system-wide decision making by serving on committees.
  • Assists in setting department long and short-range goals, objectives, and priorities.
  • Assists the department staff in writing and proof reading brief promotional copy for marketing projects.
Required Abilities
  • Establishes and maintains effective interpersonal relationships with individuals of all ages, respectful of diversity and special needs.
  • Ability to be an effective team member by utilizing skills, knowledge, and support to promote the goals and objectives of the CCPL. Respects and adheres to the chain-of-command structure for a more effective decision-making and reporting process, including greater efficiency.
  • Knows, explains and applies library services, policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates excellent service; maintains composure, demonstrates diplomacy, and maintains confidentiality while addressing complex issues with the public and staff, including complaint resolution.
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills in a variety of formats. Communicates with manager on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrates technology skills in using computers and software. Demonstrates proficiency with MS Office, analytics, website CMS, Wix Preferred, email software, project management software, scheduling software, and basic social media graphic editing software.
  • Demonstrates independent judgment, excellent organizational skills, and is detail oriented. Is self-motivated; prioritizes; and demonstrates effective problem solving, time management, and decision-making techniques.
  • Performs duties without direct supervision, handles multiple priorities, and concentrates on a task despite frequent interruptions.
  • Performs periodic self-evaluation, and sets long and short-range goals and priorities for self.
  • Sits, stands and/or walks for extended periods of time. Must have agility and strength necessary to effectively and safely reach up or down, stoop, stretch, and use step stools and ladders to retrieve and shelve materials, carry equipment, straighten facility, carries materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, shovels snow, etc.
  • Uses a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must have reliable transportation for travel to and from other branches, departments, and outside agencies. Works at other locations as necessary.
  • Possesses manual dexterity to efficiently use office equipment.
  • Follows oral and written instructions.
