Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Digital) at all levels to own architecture, design, and bring-up of custom digital boards for software defined radios. You will work with RF engineers, RF software engineers, mechanical engineers, and others to meet test needs across high-speed digital interfaces such as DDR4/5, PCIe, and SERDES, using FPGAs and memory interfaces.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of digital

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years professional experience designing digital electronics.
• Proficiency with schematic capture, layout, and analysis.
• Strong fundamentals in signal integrity and timing.
• Experience with high-speed digital simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and bring up high speed digital systems supporting software defined radios.
• Contribute to new spacecraft RF architecture trades.
• Develop circuit boards (schematic and layout) for spacecraft, with emphasis on digital electronics.
• Perform analyses and simulations of digital devices and systems.
• Test hardware in the lab from single designs to full RF systems.
• Derive hardware requirements from system specs and own qualification.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and uphold high technical standards.
• Improve existing products through troubleshooting and failure analysis.
