Job summary

Continental is seeking a Digital Services Technologist to support IT interface systems that connect to manufacturing equipment. The role requires in-depth hardware, software, and machine sequence knowledge across the plant and involves coordinating downtime, installing and testing system updates, and training colleagues on IT systems.

Ideal candidates will have networking and programming skills and familiarity with Allen Bradley, Beckhoff, and Siemens.

Job Description

TheDigital Services Technologist will:

• The Digital Services Technologist supports IT interface systems (e.g. SFI, DOPAC, …) to the machine and troubleshooting ofthese systems. This requires in depth knowledge of the hardware, software and machine sequence in all manufacturing areas.
• Support IPC Management and Change Management in the plant. This includes: Patching, Backing up, Protecting, andMaintaining the software of control systems, such as IPC's, PLC's, Drives, Communication Devices, etc.
• The required qualifications: good communication skills, the ability/willingness to train others in both the production andmaintenance areas and works well in a team.
• The preferred qualifications: good knowledge of networking, computer skills, and programming/troubleshooting in Allen Bradley,Beckhoff, and Siemens.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: (Individual tasks, duties and responsibilities of the position)

1. Hands-on assistance to SFI/CGMS and other system integrations of machines. Machine knowledge though the wholemanufacturing process is required.
2. Setup organize or assist in scheduling or coordination of machine down time required to complete item 1.
3. Setup, organize or assist in technical training of SFI/CGMS and other IT systems for craftsmen on the shopfloor andothers in Digital Services.
4. Assist in the design, installation, and startup of new or modified equipment
5. Assist in SFI and other system client software updates/upgrades, installation and testing
6. Assist installation, upkeep of documentation and machine IPC backups
7. Maintain records of temporary, evaluation or special circumstance for PLC/IPC program changes
8. Support IPC Management and Change Management in the plant.
9. Update electrical drawings when changes to control systems are made
10. Assist or develop detailed step by step procedures for setup, troubleshooting or problematic situations and trainingon off shifts.
11. Perform other duties as directed by the maintenance supervisor, maintenance coordinator, maintenance manager orplant engineer.
12. Available for after shift or after hour phone support and call in as requested
13. Available for vacancy coverage of Digital Services Engineers
14. Must be able to communicate with maintenance, engineering, and production personnel in an effective, positive andprofessional manner.
15. Ensure all ESH procedures, policies and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.

The starting annual salary for this role is $65,200 a year.
