Job summary

The University of California, Santa Cruz is seeking a Digital Scholarship Associate to oversee daily operations of the Digital Scholarship Commons (DSC) and the Digital Scholarship Innovation Studio (DSI) on the UCSC Main Campus.

You will supervise ~20 student assistants, manage equipment and inventory, and help shape policies for library circulation and digital scholarship services across spaces, collaborating with librarians and ITS staff to support campus research and learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year experience troubleshooting and operating library equipment (DSLR cameras, audio mics/recorders, 3D printers, or laser cutters).
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to learn new technology and equipment.
• Strong written and oral communication for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of the DSC Service Desk and DSI Service Desk.
• Supervise ~20 student assistants and coordinate hiring.
• Develop policies for library circulation systems and for DSC/DSI spaces.
• Maintain equipment inventory and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Collaborate with librarians and ITS on space needs and software updates.
