Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Madison Libraries seek a creative and energetic Electronic Resources Cataloging Specialist to join the Electronic Resources Cataloging Team in the Cataloging Department. This role focuses on electronic resources and collaboration across departments to resolve cataloging issues.

The position offers partial remote work after training, with up to 40% remote per week, and is full-time. Ongoing/renewable employment with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Provide complex library services support in the absence of supervisory authority.
• Interpret policies and procedures to answer non-routine questions and resolve issues.
• Hire, train, and guide student employees and monitor workflows.
• Create invoices, process complex orders, and resolve purchasing discrepancies.
• Support day-to-day library operations and guide use of resources and policies.
• Conduct reference searches to locate relevant materials when needed.
• Contribute to development of library policies and procedures.
• Utilize library systems to locate, retrieve, describe, and report data.
• Participate in committee work within the library and university.
• Educate users in the use of technologies and tools to access information.
