Job summary

Entravision in Orlando is seeking a Digital Reporter/Producer to join our multilingual newsroom. This hands-on, multiplatform role involves identifying, reporting, producing, and publishing stories that matter to Central Florida’s Hispanic community.

The ideal candidate writes in Spanish, shoots and edits video, and works with local authorities and partners. Flexible for breaking news, evenings, and weekends, with strong social media and digital storytelling skills.

Qualifications

• Excellent Spanish writing and speaking skills; bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Previous journalism, reporting, or digital media experience.
• Strong knowledge of Orlando and Central Florida communities.
• Ability to cultivate sources and maintain professional relationships with officials and community orgs.
• Experience shooting and editing video.
• Strong understanding of social media and digital storytelling.
• Capable of handling stories from idea to publication independently.
• Flexible for breaking news, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

Digital Reporter Producer

Summary

We are looking for a Digital Reporter / Producer to join our Orlando newsroom. This is a hands-on, multiplatform position for a journalist who can identify report, produce, and publish stories that matter to Central Florida’s Hispanic community.

Essential Functions

• Report, write, shoot, and produce original local stories throughout Orlando and Central Florida.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, government agencies, law enforcement, public information officers, community leaders, and other key sources.
• Develop a strong network of contacts to generate story ideas, confirm information, and stay ahead of developing news.
• Identify stories relevant to Central Florida’s Hispanic and Puerto Rican communities.
• Cover breaking news, community events, and developing stories.
• Produce content for digital, social media, streaming, and broadcast platforms.
• Write and publish stories in Spanish with speed, accuracy, and strong editorial judgment.
• Shoot and edit video, including short-form and vertical content for social platforms.
• Monitor local news, official sources, social media, and community conversations for potential stories.
• Work closely with the Orlando newsroom and the broader Entravision news operation.

Required Education And Experience

• Excellent Spanish writing and speaking skills ; bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred.
• Previous journalism, reporting, or digital media experience.
• Strong knowledge of Orlando and Central Florida and the issues affecting its communities.
• Ability to cultivate sources and maintain professional relationships with local officials, agencies, and community organizations.
• Experience shooting and editing video.
• Strong understanding of social media and digital storytelling.
• Comfortable working independently and managing stories from idea through publication.
• Proactive, resourceful, creative, and able to work in a fast-paced news environment.
• Flexible availability for breaking news, evenings, and weekends.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a Full Time position. Actual schedule and hours may vary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Reports directly to VP Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives for Broadcast
