About The Role

As a Digital Reporter, you'll be responsible for capturing and preserving verbatim records of depositions and other judicial proceedings. Whether in-person or remote, you'll use specialized recording software and hardware to produce high‑quality audio/video documentation. You’ll also administer oaths, create detailed annotations for transcription, and ensure smooth and professional proceedings.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer oaths and maintain control as an independent authority
• Annotate essential testimony for transcription and playback as needed
• Manage and secure exhibits, backup files, and complete job‑specific worksheets
• Maintain professionalism and build effective relationships with clients and legal professionals
• Perform timely preparation for assignments and respond to communications efficiently

What You’ll Need

• Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and excellent problem‑solving skills under pressure
• Experience: Familiarity with court procedures, legal terminology, and digital recording technology is preferred
• Certifications: Ability to obtain a Notary Public license and AAERT's Certified Electronic Reporter (CER) certification
• Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and touch typing (minimum 60 wpm with accuracy)
• Education: Associate’s degree in legal studies, communications, or audio/visual technology is a plus
• Personal Attributes: Self‑motivated, professional demeanor, and adaptability to work in various environments
• Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a national criminal background check

Work Environment

This role involves a mix of office‑based work and travel to legal proceedings (up to a 75‑mile radius from your location). You’ll thrive in a dynamic environment where adaptability and professionalism are key.
