Job summary

AbbVie in North Chicago, IL is seeking a Principal Digital Regulatory Assurance to lead IT quality and regulatory compliance across the Software Lifecycle. You will drive automation, DevOps best practices, and AI-enabled assurance across CI/CD, testing, deployment, and monitoring.

Collaborate with BTS Quality and cross-functional business units to ensure compliant, efficient IT solutions. The role requires deep expertise in CSA, regulatory audits, risk management, and mentoring teams on policy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience in QA and regulatory IT
• Proven expertise in DevOps toolchains (Jira, Confluence, qTest, Jenkins, GitLab, AWS, Azure DevOps)
• Experience managing SQA practices, validation strategy, risk and incident management/mitigation
• Experience supporting regulatory audits and compliance (FDA or similar)
• Strong analytics, project management, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration
• Ability to coach teams in policy, SLC execution, and regulatory requirements
• Knowledge of Computer Software Assurance (CSA) and digital transformation in quality
• Professional certifications (ASQ CQA, PMP, Six Sigma)

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and champion solution/change strategies that align with regulatory requirements, leveraging AI and automation
• Standardize DevOps practices by integrating tools across CI/CD pipelines, testing, deployment, and monitoring
• Lead continuous improvement and digital enablement in QA frameworks and automation adoption
• Automate Software Lifecycle processes with validation tools and intelligent workflows
• Monitor technology lifecycle with dashboards and alerts to ensure compliance and efficiency
• Coordinate incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Update SLC procedures in response to regulatory changes and best practices
• Represent SQA in forums and regulatory engagements; report outcomes to stakeholders
• Support and manage regulatory audits and CAPA investigations and remediation
• Provide mentoring on DevOps best practices, automation, and policy interpretation
• Lead training initiatives for IT Quality standards and new tools
• Oversee documentation management for audit readiness and evidence
• Assist CoE leadership with SLC communications and coordination
• Escalate significant quality risks and issues with minimal supervision
• Engage in change management and risk review activities
• Develop and interpret SQA metrics and dashboards for leadership
