Job summary

Inspire Medical Systems in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a Digital Product Manager to steer vision and outcomes across one or more digital products, collaborating with design, engineering, clinical, and regulatory teams to deliver compliant, usable solutions.

Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

The Digital Product Manager is accountable for product direction and outcomes across one or more digital products or capabilities. This role develops product vision and strategy, identifies and validates meaningful user and business problems, defines measurable outcomes, and guides investment across the product lifecycle. The Product Manager partners closely with Product Owners, design, engineering, data, architecture, clinical, commercial, quality, regulatory, cybersecurity, privacy, and other stakeholders to deliver valuable, viable, usable, and compliant digital solutions. The Product Manager leads through influence and ensures product decisions reflect user needs, enterprise strategy, evidence, technical realities, and regulatory obligations

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Product strategy and portfolio alignment

• Develop and communicate a clear product vision, strategy, value proposition, and outcome-based roadmap aligned with enterprise and digital strategy.
• Define the user and business problems to solve, target users, desired outcomes, key assumptions, and measures of success.
• Build evidence-based business cases and investment recommendations that consider customer value, patient and clinician impact, commercial value, risk, cost, capacity, and lifecycle needs.
• Partner with portfolio and functional leaders to sequence investments, manage dependencies, and make transparent trade-off recommendations across products and capabilities.
• Maintain a product lifecycle perspective that includes discovery, development, launch, adoption, operations, continuous improvement, and retirement.

Customer, market, and discovery leadership

• Develop deep empathy for patients, clinicians, customers, employees, and other users through direct research, observation, feedback, analytics, and partnership with design and research teams.
• Synthesize user needs, market dynamics, competitive signals, business strategy, product performance, and regulatory considerations into clear opportunity areas.
• Lead cross-functional discovery to validate problems, evaluate solution options, test assumptions, and reduce risk before significant delivery investment.
• Ensure discovery and product decisions include accessibility, privacy, security, safety, human factors, interoperability, and global market considerations as applicable.

Roadmap, prioritization, and delivery partnership

• Translate strategy into an outcome-based roadmap with clear priorities that provide context for Product Owners and delivery teams without prescribing the solution prematurely.
• Partner with Product Owners, design, engineering, systems, architecture, and quality partners to shape initiatives, clarify intended outcomes, and support effective sequencing and release planning.
• Make or facilitate product-level priority and scope decisions using transparent criteria and available evidence.
• Identify and communicate product risks, assumptions, dependencies, and decisions; elevate when broader leadership action is required.
• Support release readiness and go-to-market planning with commercial, training, support, operations, clinical, and other partners.

Performance and continuous improvement

• Define and monitor product success measures, including user outcomes, adoption, engagement, experience, quality, reliability, operational impact, and business value as appropriate.
• Use quantitative and qualitative evidence to evaluate product performance, inform roadmap changes, and identify opportunities to improve or retire capabilities.
• Establish feedback loops with users, support teams, commercial partners, and delivery teams to drive continuous learning and improvement.
• Communicate product strategy, progress, outcomes, decisions, and trade-offs clearly to executive, business, and technical audiences.

Cross-functional and regulated product leadership

• Create alignment across diverse stakeholders while preserving clear product decision rights and shared accountability for outcomes.
• Partner with Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Legal, Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Systems Engineering to integrate applicable requirements and evidence into product plans.
• Support compliant development and release activities within the quality management system, including design controls, risk management, change control, and post-market responsibilities as applicable.
• Promote modern product practices, inclusive collaboration, ethical use of data, and a culture of learning and accountability.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, product management, marketing, engineering, computer science, design, healthcare, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

• 7+ years of progressive experience in digital product management, software product management, product strategy, or a related role, including ownership of complex products or capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to develop product strategy and roadmaps, lead discovery, prioritize investments, and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Strong customer orientation and experience using research, analytics, experimentation, and feedback to inform decisions.
• Experience leading cross-functional work across design, engineering, data, business, and operational functions.
• Ability to communicate complex product decisions, evidence, and trade-offs clearly to senior leaders and delivery teams.
• Working knowledge of agile and modern product development practices, digital product analytics, and software delivery lifecycles.
• Strong judgment, systems thinking, facilitation, and influence skills in a matrixed environment.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with healthcare, medical devices, regulated software, software as a medical device, or another regulated industry.
• Experience with quality systems, design controls, risk management, human factors, privacy, cybersecurity, interoperability, or global digital products.
• Experience with digital platforms, mobile applications, web products, cloud services, APIs, data products, or connected devices.
• Advanced degree or relevant product management certification.
• Experience with product analytics and delivery tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.

The salary for this position will be offered at a level consistent with the experience and qualifications of the candidate. This information reflects the anticipated salary range for this position at the time of posting. The salary range may be modified in the future and actual compensation may vary from the posting based on various factors such as geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level.

$110,000 - $150,000 USD
