Job summary

The Charles Schwab Corporation is seeking a Digital Product Manager for the Retail Onboarding, Activation & Growth team. You will own the digital onboarding and account opening experience, collaborating with design, business, and technology partners to deliver customer-centric digital solutions at scale.

You will work with an agile scrum team to translate vision into deliverables, manage backlogs, and lead cross-functional efforts across website and retail applications.

Qualifications

Digital Product Manager

Charles Schwab's Retail Onboarding, Activation & Growth team manages the new client digital experience and is responsible for the enterprise platform that delivers this at scale. We are obsessed with solving customer needs, and collaborate with design, business, and technology partners across the enterprise to build digital experiences that our clients are passionate about.

We are looking for a product and customer champion to help us craft the future of Schwab’s digital platforms focused on onboarding and digital account open. We are on a journey to build the future of financial services. We help our retail clients plan for their future, and they are enthusiastic about the tools and experiences we provide.
Key Functions:

Working hand in hand with an agile scrum team, the Product Manager manages user story creation, prioritization, grooming, UAT, and oversight for top digital client experience as well as the primary point of contact for all production bugs and client escalations across the website and retail application. The Product Manager must be a client advocate, understanding client personas and associated needs, clearly define questions for UX Research, and understand impacts of UX Design options. The ability to quickly learn complex technical systems and think outside the box when problem solving is critical to meeting the dynamic demands of the business.

  • You will translate product vision into specific deliverables and ensure rigor in execution and attention to detail by effectively managing the product backlog.
  • You will effectively lead a development scrum team toward key objectives and results.
  • You will be at the forefront of evolving the way we work across teams and the company by practicing design thinking, outcome-orientation, data driven decision making, and product experimentation.
  • You will frame challenges as problems that are solved through critical thinking and collaboration.
  • You will focus on business impact and produce actionable recommendations informed by high quality data analysis and metrics.
  • You will build key relationships, effectively lead a development scrum team, and influence teams across the enterprise to drive scale and deliver shared outcomes.
  • You will be accountable for discovery and developing the client experience requirements.
  • You will prioritize work through opportunity validation and stakeholder consensus building.
  • You will develop an implementation plan by collaborating with a team to determine technical feasibility and sequencing dependencies.
  • You will lead the generation of innovative ideas based on market analytics and interactions with stakeholders, clients, and prospects.
  • You will champion Agile methodologies in daily stand‑up meetings, sprint planning sessions, backlog prioritization, user story preparation and demos.
  • You will work cross‑functionally with technical, design, business, and compliance counterparts to define product release requirements and investigate production issues as they arise.
  • You will deeply understand the backend architecture associated with your experiences.
  • You will lead data analysis, leveraging Adobe Analytics and Splunk.

Required Qualifications
  • Prior experience as an Agile Product Owner or leading scrum teams with a deep understanding of agile methodologies and outcome driven roadmaps.
  • Strong digital product management skills, experience with enterprise platforms, and demonstrated ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources.
  • Strong knowledge base and experience developing or managing digital experiences, coupled with knowledge of the underlying technology, both current and emerging.
  • Skilled at working cross‑functionally with technology, service, marketing, and product teams to design, develop and launch a complex digital experience.
  • Expert listening skills with the demonstrated ability to understand and refine the business intent behind stated requirements.
  • High emotional intelligence to embody our ‘through the client’s eyes’ mindset and ability to lead people through challenging projects and initiatives.
  • Curiosity, a can‑do attitude, and the ability to learn quickly and thrive in a complex, dynamic environment.
  • Self‑starter with outstanding organizational skills and ability to track multiple projects (3-4) in parallel with minimal direction.
  • Experience working in a large organization with many stakeholders.
  • Effective relationship builder - ability to partner cross‑functionally and work effectively with various personality types at all levels of the organization.
  • Superior communication skills, able to communicate complex messages and trade‑offs and tell a compelling story.
  • Good understanding and/or experience with financial services regulations is a plus.
  • Experience with digital analytics; Adobe Analytics experience preferred.
Technical/Functional Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years agile scrum experience
  • 3-5 years digital Product Ownership experience
  • 3-5 years experience in a financial or fintech firm
  • Experience with responsive web and mobile app development
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence applications
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required
