Digital Product Engineer Principal
Location: BlueCross MN Eagan campus (may include on‑call duties). Work Arrangement: Hybrid.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, code, and test digital products across web, mobile, IoT, and microservice backends.
- Develop and support AWS platform, configure services, and lead system design and technology platform decisions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and present findings to team, leadership, and stakeholders.
- Mentor and train team members on technologies, design patterns, and best practices.
- Participate in and lead agile teams of developers/engineers, testers, and analysts.
- Contribute to product development and continuous integration/continuous deployment lifecycle.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to plan product features and stories.
- Use creativity and collaboration to ensure product usability, usefulness, feasibility, and cost effectiveness.
- Ensure team members have tools, time, and resources for successful delivery and support.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of related professional experience.
- Cloud Service Provider Certification (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals) required within 1 year of employment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of digital platforms, tools, and processes.
- Passion for building high quality technology solutions.
- Experience in a technical leadership role.
- Ability to propose innovative, complete technology solutions to business needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.
- Preferred: 7+ years direct hands‑on development/engineering experience.
- Experience with modern technologies: JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, Express.js, React.js, Java, Groovy, Spring, NoSQL, NativeScript.js, REST.
- Experience designing modern web, mobile, API, and IoT solutions.
- Experience delivering products using agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS infrastructure (EC2, ECS, RDS, Lambda) and serverless products.
- Familiarity with development and collaboration tools such as Git, Jira, Hipchat, Basecamp, CodeCommit, CodePipeline, CodeDeploy.
Hybrid Work Arrangement
We come together in the office two days each week – most teams designate at least one anchor day to ensure team interaction. The rest of the week you are empowered to work remote.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $117,800.00 – $159,000.00 – $200,200.00 per year.
