Purpose: The Digital Processing Technician provides high-quality support and customer service within the Histology Laboratory. This role involves the preparation, organization, and processing of microscopy slides for scanning, as well as accurately matching slides with documentation and directing materials to appropriate pathologists and laboratory personnel. Responsibilities include responding to requests for diagnostic pathology specimens, gathering required information, verifying request appropriateness, and ensuring proper approvals for specimen use from both on-site and off-site sources. The position also requires precise tracking of specimens and projects utilizing Beaker and other database systems while maintaining consistent collaboration with pathologists and related departments, including Histology and Surgical Pathology.
