Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. in Columbus, OH, seeks a Digital Processing Technician to support the Digital Pathology team.

You will prepare, organize, and quality-check microscopy slides for digital scanning, ensuring accurate documentation and compliant handling of specimens. You will track specimens in Beaker and other systems, collaborate with pathologists and histology staff, and maintain a clean, safe laboratory environment while upholding HIPAA standards and quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree preferred in medical laboratory technology or related field.
• Experience with histology and pathology workflows is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, organize, clean, label, and quality-check microscopy slides for digital scanning.
• Process and track pathology specimens and requests with accurate documentation.
• Match slides with paperwork and maintain specimen integrity through processing stages.
• Support slide scanning activities and review scanned images for quality.
• Handle packaging, transport, receipt, and distribution of specimens and materials.
• Document and track cases in Beaker, EPIC/IHIS, and other databases; collaborate with pathologists and lab staff.
