By working closely with production leadership, quality control, Kornit technicians, and software developers, this role directly contributes to expanding the company’s garment compatibility and print versatility—driving measurable gains in production efficiency, output consistency, and turnaround speed.

Responsibilities include setting up print files, calibrating colors, and running designs on DTG printers; developing and maintaining SOPs that streamline workflows; assisting with scheduled and emergency maintenance to reduce downtime; managing consumables inventory for uninterrupted operation; supporting ongoing training to elevate operator proficiency; and executing seasonal sampling that enables faster product rollout. This role is ideal for a digitally skilled, mechanically-minded and highly organized technician who thrives on optimizing systems, solving creative production challenges, and improving overall throughput in a fast-paced digital print environment.

DUTIES

  • Set up and verify new media blanks in Kornit software (Apollo and Atlas Max Plus)
  • Create print instructions and garment-specific loading procedures
  • Write, edit, and update standard operating procedures for machines and workflow
  • Print and review seasonal samples and developer-supplied test designs
  • Train new hires on machine operation, safety, and daily maintenance routines
  • Perform upgrades and repairs as necessary including filters, hoses, and digital print heads
  • Assist operators with preventative maintenance and technicians with emergency repairs
  • Monitor and replenish consumables including ink, Q-Fix, wipes, filters, and chemicals
  • Inspect test prints for alignment, curing, and color consistency alongside QC
  • Keep shared records of print results, maintenance logs, and garment compatibility notes

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Validate new print styles and garments across Kornit systems, ensuring quality and compatibility
  • Develop and maintain print engineering documentation, including SOPs and loading instructions
  • Collaborate with software developers and production teams to integrate new blanks and designs
  • Support seasonal sampling initiatives and special production runs for R&D or sales
  • Coordinate with Quality Control to ensure color accuracy and production consistency
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc machine maintenance activities
  • Train new operators on print processes, media blank loading, and system best practices
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of inks, consumables, and print engineering supplies
  • Document test results, machine adjustments, and style validations for internal use
  • Serve as a technical liaison between production, development, and maintenance teams
  • Communicate effectively with the production team, reporting any equipment or workflow issues promptly.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in DTG printing and maintenance to improve efficiency and print quality
