Job summary

Alphagraphics of Carrollton is seeking a Digital Print Production Operator to manage setup and printing on our cut-sheet digital presses, calibrate color to Pantone standards, and maintain printers. You will also support our large format department with installations and production work when available.

The role emphasizes accurate production, color consistency, waste control, and quality assurance as you contribute to daily operations and learn extended maintenance from technicians.

Qualifications

• 3+ years digital printing experience, preferably on Xerox presses, Adobe and Fiery.
• Experience running Envelop presses.
• Ability to multi-task and organize several activities concurrently.
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime, if needed.
• Ordering and maintaining paper and envelopes; keep stock organized.
• Ability to maximize profit through efficient use of time and equipment.
• Can perform basic bindery functions.
• Familiar with Fiery Print Controller.
• Familiar with Adobe Creative Cloud or Acrobat Pro.
• Proficient with Command Workstation to control digital workflow.
• Graphic design skills are preferred but not required.
• Customer service experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate digital commercial printers using Fiery Command Workstation.
• Assist in the large format department with installations and production work when available.
• Impose files for print and run USPS mail software.
• Work with Production Scheduler to prioritize and manage daily job production.
• Produce orders accurately, efficiently, and quickly while maintaining quality.
• Update job status and location in MIS system.
• Always run a proof copy and compare it to the work order.
• Control waste and redos by quality-checking jobs in production.
• Complete Quality Assurance documents for all printed jobs.
• Track waste, spoilage, usage, and inventory for all digital printing machines; maintain logs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Perform required maintenance and learn extended maintenance from the technician.
• Ensure service calls are credited by the service technician, including poor-quality copies.
• Calibrate and manage all color devices to maintain color consistency.
• Monitor color consistency during print runs and adjust as needed.
• Other duties as assigned

Job description

As a Digital Print Production Operator, you will be responsible for job setup and printing using our cut-sheet digital Presses. You will be in charge of calibrating printers and color-matching projects against our client's Pantone colors / previous jobs. You will also manage the service and maintenance of the machines as needed and order papers.

This is an excellent position for someone interested in entering the industry and building a lasting career.

You will also be trained to assist our large format department in printing, production, and installation projects. Primary examples of projects that need assistance are vehicle graphics and wall mural projects that require a second installer.

The primary responsibility of the Digital Print Production Operator is to operate and complete all digital printing (B&W/Color) production for maximum production efficiency.

Digital Print Production Operator Role Responsibilities:

• Responsible for operating digital commercial printers using Fiery Command Workstation.
• Assisting in our large format department with installations & production work when available

• Completes Quality Assurance documents for all printed jobs
• Tracks waste, spoilage, usage, and inventory for all digital printing machinesMaintains all Digital Printing Equipment logs
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment
• Performs all required maintenance and learns extended maintenance from the technician.
• Ensures that all service “clicks” are credited by the service technician in each call, including credit for poor-quality copies
• Calibrates and manages all color devices as required to maintain color consistency.
• Monitors color consistency during all print runs and make adjustments as necessary.

Digital Print Production Operator Qualifications

• 3 plus Digital printing experience, preferred if the experience is on Xerox presses, Adobe and Fiery.
• Experience running Envelop presses.
• Ability to multi-task and organize several activities and tasks concurrently.

• Ordering and maintaining paper, envelop stocksand keep all well organized
• Ability to maximize profit through the efficient use of time and equipment.
• Can perform basic bindery functions.
• Familiar and comfortable with Fiery Print Controller.
• Familiar with Adobe creative cloud or Acrobat Pro.
• Is proficient with the use of Command Workstation (if applicable) to control digital workflow.
