Work Location: 605 Territorial Dr Bolingbrook, IL 60440
Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri 2:30pm - 11:00pm plus overtime and scheduled weekends


Summary/Objective:


The Operator I, Press Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining printing presses, print machines used to produce printed products such as mail, envelopes, and other printed materials. Job involves a mix of technical and mechanical skills in a production environment, mainly digital printing.


Essential Functions:

  • Set up printing jobs by selecting appropriate settings, loading digital files, and configuring printing parameters according to job specifications.
  • Operate print machine(s) independently for all types of jobs.
  • Handle and prepare printing materials, including loading paper, adjusting settings, and managing inventory.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks on printing equipment, such as cleaning, calibrating, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Consistently achieve expected throughput/efficiency.
  • Able to run 100% mail well for critical clients.
  • Provide proper adjustments to meet established hourly production standards.
  • Ensure proper sorting according to USPS requirements.
  • Reconcile/record all output.
  • Accurately use job data capture to track time.
  • Ensure that the printed materials meet quality standards by monitoring the printing process for consistency, color accuracy, and print quality.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and clean work area.
  • Effectively use quality control procedures to monitor the quality of the final output.
  • Review schedule for jobs assigned daily; report issues back to Supervisor.
  • Follow all plant, department, and work area safety rules and operation procedures.


Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Work history of longevity, excellent attendance, and responsibility.
  • Experience working in a detail-oriented and deadline-driven environment in a print production setting.
  • High School/GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of USPS regulations.
  • Ability to read and understand job tickets.
  • Ability to use powered material handling equipment and stack pallets.


Supervisory Responsibilities: Not responsible for supervising other employees.


Work Environment: Indoor, temperature-controlled, production facility.


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand on feet for at least 8 hours/day and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Personal Protection Equipment (PPE): Certain PPE may be required while performing specific job functions.


Security Clearance: Amsive is a Federal Contractor, and this position may require government security clearance for certain projects.
