Description
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, validate, impose, and optimize complex print-ready and variable data files.
- Perform preflight, layout verification, color management, proofing, and output optimization activities.
- Learn and support department presses and output devices to create accurate press proofs and maintain color-managed production output.
- Troubleshoot file, font, image, data merge, RIP, print server, and output-related issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support production schedules, quality standards, documentation, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in print production, prepress, layout programming, variable data printing, or print workflow support.
- Proficiency with layout, prepress, and print workflow applications.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and print workflow systems such as Quadient Inspire, Canon Prisma, Screen Equios, Fiery, XMPie, or similar tools.
- Understanding of digital print workflows, variable data printing, file preflight, imposition, color management, and proofing standards.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, communicate issues, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced production environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Arts, Printing Technology, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency with layout, prepress, and print workflow applications.
- Working knowledge of:
- Adobe Creative Cloud
- Customer Communication Management tools such as Quadient Inspire, XMPie, or similar platforms
- Print servers and production workflow systems such as Fiery, Prisma, or Equios
- Strong understanding of:
- Digital print technologies and production workflows
- Variable data printing concepts
- Color management workflows, proofing standards, and output consistency
- File preflight, imposition, and print-ready file preparation standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Arts, Printing Technology, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent professional experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with digital press operation, press proofing, calibration, profiling, or proof-to-press color matching.
- Experience in high-volume transactional, critical communications, direct mail, or marketing print environments.
- Ability to learn new software, equipment, and production workflows quickly.
- Work is performed in both office and production print environments.
- Must be able to work at a computer workstation for extended periods and visually review printed materials for layout, color, and quality accuracy.
- Stand or walk in the production area while reviewing press output, creating proofs, or troubleshooting production issues.
- Handle production materials, paper samples, proofs, and related supplies in accordance with company safety practices.
Salary $50,000 to $65,000, bases on experience
