Job description

Digital Press Operator Indigo-Night Shift

Join our team as a Digital Press Operator Indigo-Night Shift at Quad, a global leader in the commercial printing and direct marketing industry, located at our East Coast Supercenter in Westampton, NJ.

This role involves operating the HP Indigo 12000 digital press, including setup, operation, and maintenance, to produce high-quality direct mail pieces and related products. Quad emphasizes internal growth, providing opportunities for employees to develop their skills and advance within the company.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret job tickets to ensure product quality and specifications
  • Select appropriate substrates for each job
  • Make decisions regarding quality control, color standards, and adjustments
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales, and clients to ensure quality output
  • Demonstrate equipment operation to customers as needed
  • Perform quality checks to meet physical and visual standards
  • Monitor production, optimize processes, and reduce waste
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform minor repairs, and conduct preventive maintenance
  • Operate material handling equipment
  • Address drying/curing issues and optimize material and equipment use
  • Communicate job-specific information internally
  • Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures
  • Manage inventory and recordkeeping of consumables
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow all safety procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

This position requires the ability to lift up to 35 pounds and work 12-hour shifts, either from 7 am to 7 pm or 7 pm to 7 am, with potential overtime.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of digital or offset printing experience
  • Experience with AQ and UV coating processes
  • HP Indigo Operator training certification is a plus, but training can be provided for qualified candidates with four-color printing experience
  • Strong understanding of four-color process printing and color adjustments
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to follow instructions and work flexible hours, including travel for training
