Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Digital Press Operator for the West Chester, OH facility. The role includes 2nd shift (3pm–11pm) and 3rd shift (11pm–7am) with a $2.00/hr differential, plus possible first-shift training initially.

You will operate the first-of-its-kind roll-to-roll inkjet web press, ensure setup accuracy, and maintain quality and safety on a fast-paced manufacturing line. Training may begin on the 1st shift (7am–3pm) before transitioning to your assigned shift.

Qualifications

• Experience working in printing or similar industry OR as a machine operator.
• Experience working with computer systems in an industrial/technical environment.
• Experience troubleshooting machinery and quality issues.
• Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety rules and wear PPE.
• Operate equipment to defined standards and targets.
• Ensure proper setup of each job on the inkjet web press.
• Monitor process quality and inspect final product for color, shading and brightness.
• Document operations in computer systems and data entry.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform adjustments to minimize downtime.
• Work with mobile equipment safely and collaborate to meet goals.
• Perform preventative maintenance and housekeeping.
• Communicate shift updates and email as needed.
• Handle tasks such as lifting and standing up to 12 hours daily.

• 2nd and 3rd shift differential is $2.00 per hour = $29.00 – $33.50 per hour

Shift

• Hiring for 2nd Shift (3pm - 11pm) AND 3rd Shift (11pm - 7am)
• Must be available and flexible to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Please note that initial training may begin on 1st shift (7am – 3 pm); once completed, you will transition to your assigned 2nd or 3rd shift schedule.

What You Will Do

• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Operate equipment to defined standards and production specification targets
• Ensure that each job printed on the inkjet web press is properly set up and prepared properly to produce the product to the established specifications.
• Monitor the process to maintain quality and inspect the final product, identifying subtle differences in color, shading, and brightness. Operators are responsible for ensuring product quality and taking ownership of outcomes.
• Properly document as needed in computer systems, including consistent monitoring and data entry, to ensure proper operation of equipment and product quality. This role involves a balanced mix of hands-on physical work and computer-based tasks
• Troubleshoot issues and perform adjustments accurately, efficiently, and according to procedures, minimizing unexpected downtime and maintenance calls
• Operate and safely work around mobile equipment.
• Work as a team to help meet or exceed production, waste, quality, and safety goals
• Perform regular preventative maintenance and housekeeping tasks
• Communicate effectively on shift with other operators and via email as needed.
• Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day, in an industrial environment.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience working in printing or similar industry OR as a machine operator.
• Experience working with computer system in an industrial and/or technical environment.
• Experience troubleshooting machinery and quality issues.
• Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience operating Digital and/or Flexo Printing Presses
• Experience in corrugated packaging, folding carton, printing, or Point of Purchase (POP) display industries.
• Experience with reliability and Preventative Maintenance (PM) systems
• Experience with print production processes and color theory
