Job description

Allied Printing Services, Inc. is a full-service commercial and financial printer that has been in operation since 1949 and is a print-media solutions provider in Manchester, CT. Job Summary:

The Digital Press Operator is responsible for the set-up, and operation of the digital press and related equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Setting up and running Impremia and KM-1 digital pressto ensure proper operation and that each job bag is followed precisely and completedto the customer specification.
  • Checking samples during print runs to make adjustment as needed andmonitor digital press to verify quality, productivity, and waste to meet requirements. Manage press speed, monitor toner/ink, color, finish, and adjust to maintain quality.
  • Visually inspect the product throughout the run for quality checks, registration, ink coverage, and number sequencing.
  • Perform color calibrations and maintain consistent color output.
  • Identify root causes of errors and subsequent correctiveaction.
  • Monitor and maintaininventory and keep consumables readily stocked.
  • Address all production, scheduling, quality, and maintenance problems.
  • Inspect and examine printed products for print clarity, color accuracy, conformance to specifications, and external defects.
  • Accurately interpret, document, and communicate diagnostic feedback from equipment and act upon information to resolve production, maintenance, and repair issues.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs with service technicians.
  • Maintain safety, quality, maintenance, and good manufacturing practices.

Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills, understanding of digital file formats, and mechanical aptitude required.
  • Ability to read and interpret internal and external communications to perform job duties.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Mathematic skills to include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Good verbal and written comprehension to understand job orders and follow detailed instructions.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusand distinguish between differentcolors.
  • Ability to work quickly in a fast-pacedenvironment.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience with Impremia, KM-1, or Large Format encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements:Standing-80%, Walking-20%, Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling 70lbs.
