Job summary

The Imagine Group in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Operator, Digital Press to manage digital printing equipment from setup to quality control. You will run presses such as Indigo, Wide Format, Dye Sublimation, Onset, Durst, Vutek and Spyder, ensuring customer specs and timely delivery.

Shift is 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM. This on-site role requires attention to safety, documentation, and the ability to troubleshoot with supervision while maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be proficient with Mac and Windows operating systems.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to follow documented procedures.
• Ability to read and understand instructions and measuring tools.
• Math proficiency and reliable attendance are essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate digital print equipment and the necessary software.
• Complete jobs per customer specifications on schedule.
• Monitor production quality throughout runs.
• Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal printing conditions.
• Ensure materials are in stock and ready for production.
• Document production information for labor and material tracking.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety procedures.
• Assist and mentor Apprentices and Feeder staff as needed.
• Overtime as required and perform other duties.

Job Summary:

The Operator, Digital Press is responsible for all aspects of operating the digital printing equipment to production and quality standards. Presses included under “Digital Press”: Indigo, Wide Format, Dye Sublimation, Onset, Durst, Vutek, Spyder.

Shift: 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM.

Job Description:

• Operate digital print equipment and the software necessary for print operations.
• Complete jobs according to customer specifications in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitor production output throughout the run for quality.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal printing conditions.
• Ensure materials for the job are in stock and available for production.
• Properly document production information to account for all labor and materials consumed on a job.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Properly execute pressroom Safety Procedures.
• Act as a resource to Apprentice and Feeder.
• Troubleshoot with the help of the Lead Operator.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proficient in computer applications, including Mac and Windows operating systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION

• Previous print industry experience.
• Experience using an ERP system.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to follow documented procedures.
• Ability to read and understand oral/written instructions proficiently.
• Ability to read and understand tape measure and other measuring equipment.
• Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.
• Reliability through attendance, punctuality, and attention to workstation.
• Demonstrate a positive safety attitude.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Frequent walking and standing.
• Manual dexterity for repetitive work.
