Job description

Join a Portland Print Team That Values Craft and ReliabilityBe part of a locally owned business communications leader with a close‑knit, structured environment. If you love the rhythm of production, take pride in precision, and thrive on meeting deadlines as a team, this role is for you.A day in the life (Mon–Fri, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.)You clock in, review the production queue, and bring multiple high‑speed digital presses online—Canon and Konica Minolta among them. You stage stocks, confirm job tickets, and check color calibration. As jobs run in parallel, you offload neatly, keep order intact, and move stacks to the cutter. When output drifts, you make smart adjustments to keep throughput optimized and quality rock‑solid. You log routine maintenance, flag any mechanical issues, and keep the workflow aligned with LEAN practices.Midday, you collaborate with customer service on priorities, fine‑tune a file in Adobe InDesign or Illustrator for print‑readiness, and ensure brand standards are consistent across pieces. You might prep variable data for a mailing run, or pivot to large format using a Canon imagePROGRAF, and occasionally assist where needed on a Ricoh flatbed or flexo press. By 4:00 p.m., you’ve met quantity targets without sacrificing quality—and the team is ready for tomorrow. What you’ll handleSimultaneously operate multiple high‑speed printers (Canon, Konica Minolta, and others) across concurrent projectsHit quantity goals and deadlines while maintaining strict quality standardsOffload output and load materials onto cutters while preserving exact sequenceTweak equipment settings to ensure optimal throughput and consistencyEscalate mechanical issues to the right contacts promptlySet up, operate, and complete routine maintenance on production equipmentFollow LEAN manufacturing principles throughout productionPrepare print‑ready artwork; make minor design and formatting adjustments for professional resultsSafeguard brand consistency across all designed materialsCoordinate with customer service and production teams for scheduling and prioritizationSupport a Design Specialist with template formatting/editing using Adobe Creative SuiteWhat you bringAt least 2 years of recent experience in commercial or industrial print production/services6+ months hands‑on with high‑speed digital equipment (Canon/OCE, Konica Minolta, Ricoh, Kyocera)Comfort with physical work: regularly lift up to 40 lbs; stand, move, bend, sit, and walk for the full shiftSolid basic computer skillsStrong attendance record and consistent work history over the last yearCurrent, practical Adobe Creative Suite experience (InDesign and Illustrator)Experience with variable data printing or mailing workflowsFamiliarity with color calibration and/or finishing (bindery, cutters, etc.)ProficienciesMachine setups for production runsDigital printingInkjet printingEquipment you may useLarge format: Canon imagePROGRAF; Ricoh flatbed printerFlexographic printing pressCompensation & benefitsStarting pay: $23/hourBenefits after hire: 401(k) with company match, profit sharing, medical/vision/dental, and up to three weeks PTO in your first yearReady to do your best work with a team that supports growth and consistency?
