Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Manufacturing Operations Test Engineering Team in Baltimore, MD seeks a Digital & Power Engineer 2/3 to own development, integration, and testing of production hardware. You will monitor performance, analyze failures, and drive fixes across cross-functional teams.

The role requires hands-on testing, interpretation of schematics, and strong communication. Level 2 requires 2+ years, Level 3 requires 5+ years, with a Secret clearance capability and US citizenship.

The Digital & Power Engineer will support the development, integration, and testing of production hardware.

Activities will range from hands‑on testing and troubleshooting; to analysis of failure trends, root cause/ corrective actions; and attending program meetings to report yields, problems, and corrective actions.

What You’ll Get to Do:

• Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment
• Troubleshoot and support digital and power hardware
• Support First Time Through Test Yield (FTTTY) and hardware deliveries
• Analyze test data and identify early trends
• Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements
• Collaborate with design engineering to develop and implement hardware improvements and solutions
• Support technicians through troubleshooting and training
• Monitor product yields and aggressively work to maintain program yield targets
• Support program meetings in developing root cause and corrective actions
• Attend program meetings to report yield issues, yield detractor investigation finding, and corrective actions
• Interface with manufacturing management, test technicians, production engineers, design engineers, system engineers, program management and program support teams

The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of digital theory and power concepts, and a working knowledge of circuit design. They will have analytical skills to review requirements, test plans, and test scenarios; and the ability to effectively communicate across teams. They should be self‑directed, organized, team oriented and have previous experience with MS Office tools. This position will be filled at either Level2 or Level3.

Basic Qualifications Level2:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related STEM field
• 2+ years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree in electrical engineering or related STEM field.
• Hands on experience with high power test equipment including power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscope, power meter, signal generator.
• Experience reading and interpreting specifications, schematics and block diagrams.
• Experience with power diodes, transistors, capacitors, and electrical circuitry.
• Ability to Obtain/maintain Secret level clearance.
• U.S. citizenship

Basic Qualifications Level3:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related STEM field
• 5+ years of relevant experience; or 3+ years and master’s degree in electrical engineering or related STEM field.
• Hands on experience with high power test equipment including power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscope, power meter, signal generator.
• Experience reading and interpreting specifications, schematics and block diagrams.
• Experience with power diodes, transistors, capacitors, and electrical circuitry.
• Ability to obtain/maintain Secret level clearance.
• U.S. citizenship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience automated test equipment including Teradyne Spectrum systems.
• Advanced degree in Engineering (Power specific) or related STEM discipline
• Ability to work with minimal direction and guidance
• Experience with troubleshooting complicated circuitry at the system or component level
• Experience with Lab Windows CVI, C / C++ programming
• Proficiency with digital, analog, power, RF test equipment, RF theory and high-speed digital.
• Familiarity with differential digital interfaces like LVDS PXI/PXIe and VME bus experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
