Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Digital Operations Manager to lead the daily operations of the Digital Department, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely production of quality products that meet customer requirements. You will provide leadership for department personnel, manage production planning and workflow, ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

You will mentor staff, optimize equipment utilization, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.
  • Ten years of related experience.
  • Proficiency with HP Production Pro and related digital printing tools.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical documents and production schedules.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong data analysis and production metrics knowledge.
  • Effective verbal and written communication across departments.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems, safety standards, and 6S.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Digital Department operations and production activities.
  • Serve as technical lead and primary escalation point for customer support and equipment issues.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards meeting customer specs.
  • Foster safety culture and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
  • Mentor and develop department personnel through coaching and training.
  • Identify workforce development needs and implement training programs.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance and ensure equipment reliability and 6S standards.
  • Direct production planning and resource allocation to meet delivery targets.
  • Collaborate with all departments to align capabilities with customer needs.
  • Monitor performance metrics and drive corrective actions for productivity and cost efficiency.
  • Evaluate and implement new equipment and process improvements.
  • Manage departmental budgets and capital requests to support operations.
  • Support customer visits, audits, and product launches as needed.
  • Travel to support customers and operations as required.

THE DIGITAL OPERATIONS MANAGER OVERSEES THE DAILY OPERATIONS OF THE DIGITAL
DEPARTMENT, ENSURING THE SAFE, EFFICIENT, AND TIMELY PRODUCTION OF QUALITY
PRODUCTS THAT MEET CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS. THIS ROLE PROVIDES LEADERSHIP FOR
DEPARTMENTAL PERSONNEL, MANAGES PRODUCTION PLANNING AND WORKFLOW, MAINTAINS
COMPLIANCE WITH QUALITY AND SAFETY STANDARDS, AND DRIVES CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
INITIATIVES. THE MANAGER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT, EQUIPMENT
PERFORMANCE, OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY, AND FOSTERING EFFECTIVE CROSS-DEPARTMENT
COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION WITH TO SUPPORT BUSINESS GOALS, ALIGN
PRIORITIES, AND ENSURE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage all Digital Department operations, ensuring the efficientexecution of production activities involving, digital finishing equipment, HPDigital press, HP Production pro, and other technologies/equipment used inthe digital department.
  • Provide technical leadership and serve as the primary escalation point forcustomer support, equipment, and production-related issues.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards to ensure all digital print productsmeet customer specifications and company requirements.
  • Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement whileensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and operationalstandards.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop department personnel through performancemanagement, coaching, training, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Identify workforce development needs and implement training programs toensure employees possess the skills and knowledge required to meet businessobjectives.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs and ensure all equipment operatesreliably, safely, and efficiently while maintaining 6S workplace standards.
  • Direct production planning and execution by determining manufacturingmethods, allocating resources, and optimizing equipment utilization to meetdelivery and quality targets.
  • Collaborate with all departments to align production capabilities withcustomer requirements and business goals.
  • Monitor departmental performance metrics, analyze operational data, andimplement corrective actions to improve productivity, quality, costefficiency, and on-time delivery.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement new equipment, technologies, and processimprovements that support business growth and operational excellence.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, capital equipment requests, andresource planning to support current and future operational needs.
  • Support customer visits, audits, product launches, and business initiativesas required.
  • Travel as necessary to support customers, suppliers, training activities, andbusiness operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; ten years of related experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in digital printing hardware and softwareapplications, including HP Production Pro and working knowledge of the tools,equipment, and materials utilized throughout digital printing operations
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage departmental operations, and drivecontinuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing or productionenvironment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability toidentify root causes, develop effective solutions, and make sound businessdecisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical documents, specifications, workinstructions, and production schedules.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and resource-planning skills withthe ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, production metrics, and performance reporting.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability tocollaborate across departments and interact professionally with customers,suppliers, and team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems, workplace safetyrequirements, preventive maintenance programs, and 6S principles.

Posted Pay Range: 75,000 - 100,000 base
