Job summary

WCTV, a Gray Media property in Tallahassee, seeks a Digital Content Producer who will write, edit, and publish compelling journalism for online and broadcast audiences. You will develop content for social platforms, track engagement, and help grow the WCTV Now digital desk with coaching for streaming and on-air presentations.

The ideal candidate has a journalism degree, internship experience in a newsroom, solid AP Style knowledge, and a drive to grow in a fast-paced media environment in Florida.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism is required.
• Internship in a commercial newsroom is preferred.
• Working knowledge of web and social platforms.
• Excellent knowledge of AP Style.
• Desire to grow in a newsroom.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate excellent writing, copy-editing and storytelling skills.
• Write accurate, compelling and engaging articles under tight deadlines.
• Use AP Style daily at an expert level.
• Break news with accurate and timely push notifications through our apps.
• Craft thoughtful and eye-catching text, photo and video posts for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Threads.
• Scout story ideas through viewer calls, emails or direct messages.
• Pitch and cultivate creative ideas to increase web traffic and audience engagement.
• Collaborate and communicate with reporters, other digital team members, producers, anchors and managers to gather content for online and on-air.
• Interest in presenting content on our streaming platforms and/or broadcasts.
