Job summary

Hawaiʻi Public Radio seeks a digital news producer who is community-minded and deeply cares about Hawaiʻi journalism. This hands-on role spans producing, editing and storytelling across our digital platform, including short videos, newsletters and social content.

You will collaborate with reporters and editors, write and edit copy, capture audio and video, and use analytics to guide audience engagement. Based at our Honolulu HQ with some remote flexibility, evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong news judgment and storytelling ability; able to edit for AP style and house guide.
• Proficient copyediting and writing with attention to accuracy and clarity.
• Experience with social media storytelling and multimedia content creation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with reporters and editors on assignments and editorial decisions.
• Produce, edit and distribute digital stories across Hawaiʻi Public Radio platforms.
• Create and edit short videos for social media and newsletters (Akamai Recap).
• Edit audio and multimedia assets for digital distribution; field work for visuals when needed.
• Schedule web posts and updates; monitor analytics to understand audience engagement.
