Job summary

framestore is seeking a Digital Matte Painter to create photo-real environments and textures that mirror live-action plates or stand alone as DMP plates. You will map paintings onto 3D objects for use in a 3D environment and work closely with Modeling and Shading teams, bringing a basic understanding of those disciplines to the role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in Photoshop and Nuke
• Working knowledge of Maya and Mari is a plus
• Previous experience working in a Linux environment
• Strong artistic skills
• Experience with 2.5D
• A good understanding of the entire visual effects process
• Strong knowledge of camera focal lengths, composition, and output requirements
• Experience with creating original concept designs
• Creative problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Paint photo-real environments to match live-action plates or stand on their own as DMP plates.
• Map paintings onto 3D objects for use in a 3D environment.
