CSU Stanislaus is seeking a student Digital Marketing Assistant within Strategic Enrollment Management. You will support undergraduate recruitment through social media, short-form video, photography and storytelling, under the Marketing & Communications Lead.

You'll help develop engaging content, coordinate campaigns with Student Recruitment & Outreach, Financial Aid and Academic Success Center, and gain hands-on experience with real campaigns while reflecting student voices and campus life.

  • Job Description/Duties
  • The Enrollment Management division is seeking a creative, curious and motivated student to join its marketing team. Working under the direction of the Marketing & Communications Lead, the Student Digital Marketing Assistant supports the execution of Enrollment Management's digital marketing strategy through social media, short-form video, photography and student-centered storytelling.

    The primary focus of this position is developing engaging digital content that supports undergraduate recruitment. The student will also contribute to campaigns that connect current students with services and resources across Enrollment Management, including Student Recruitment & Outreach, Financial Aid and the Academic Success Center.

    This position offers hands‑on experience with real marketing campaigns while helping prospective and current students find the information, opportunities and support they need to thrive at Stanislaus State. The work should reflect student voices and experiences while advancing campaign objectives and the mission of Enrollment Management.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Support digital campaigns that promote undergraduate recruitment, enrollment, financial aid awareness, academic support and other Enrollment Management priorities.
    • Translate campaign goals and staff direction into practical social content concepts, hooks, captions and calls to action.
    • Assist with campaign planning, audience-focused messaging, content sequencing and implementation according to established calendars.
    • Prepare, stage and schedule approved content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and other appropriate digital platforms.
    • Track assigned deliverables, communicate progress proactively and identify potential delays or barriers before deadlines are missed.
    • Plan, capture and edit short‑form video for Reels, Stories and other mobile‑first platforms.
    • Capture authentic photography and video that highlight student experiences, campus life, recruitment events and Enrollment Management programs.
    • Develop interview questions, coordinate student participants and guide contributors so content remains focused on the intended audience and campaign purpose.
    • Write accurate, engaging captions and calls to action that align with the University voice, accessibility expectations and campaign goals.
    • Research emerging social media formats and trends, then recommend responsible ways to adapt them for Stanislaus State audiences.
    • Maintain assigned portions of the digital content calendar and organize campaign assets, footage, captions and approvals.
    • Review basic performance indicators such as reach, engagement, video views, completion rates and link activity to help inform future content decisions.
    • Identify recurring audience questions, content gaps and opportunities to make Enrollment Management information clearer and more useful.
    • Contribute actionable ideas during campaign planning and explain how each idea supports the audience, objective and desired action.
    • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Lead and partners in Student Recruitment & Outreach, Financial Aid, the Undergraduate Advising and other Enrollment Management areas.
    • Maintain reliable attendance and consistent weekly availability during scheduled work hours.
    • Ask thoughtful questions, communicate professionally and provide timely updates on project status.
    • Receive constructive feedback without defensiveness and return with stronger solutions or alternative approaches.
    • Follow University branding, accessibility, privacy, records and social media guidelines.
    • Perform other closely related digital marketing duties in support of Enrollment Management priorities.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications
    • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Demonstrates experience creating short‑form digital content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts or a similar platform through academic, student organization, freelance, professional or purpose‑driven personal work.
    • Basic proficiency filming and editing mobile‑first video using CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, native platform tools or comparable software.
    • Strong writing and copyediting skills, including the ability to produce clear captions and accurately communicate names, dates, links, instructions and campaign information.
    • Demonstrates ability to organize multiple assignments, manage time effectively and meet established deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently after receiving direction while proactively communicating progress, questions and potential barriers.
    • Ability to receive constructive feedback, ask thoughtful clarifying questions, revise work and apply feedback to future assignments.
    • Ability to exercise professionalism, discretion and sound judgment when creating content and representing Stanislaus State.
    • Ability to follow established review and approval processes. Content may not be published without supervisor approval.
    • Demonstrates digital storytelling ability through required submitted work samples.
    • Experience supporting a coordinated digital campaign or maintaining a social media content calendar.
    • Experience capturing mobile photography and video in event, interview or campus settings.
    • Experience interviewing or directing students, staff or other participants on camera.
    • Familiarity with social media analytics, audience engagement, content performance and using results to inform future content.
    • Familiarity with digital accessibility practices, including captions, readable on‑screen text, alternative text and inclusive storytelling.
    • Experience creating audience‑centered content for education, recruitment, student services, nonprofit, public service or another mission‑driven organization.
    • Experience collaborating on a team project with shared deadlines, review processes and multiple stakeholders.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
    • Must have received and accepted Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying.
  • Salary Range
  • $16.90per hour.
