Position Overview:
We’re seeking a creative and highly organized Digital Manager to lead our social media presence and assist with broader digital content responsibilities for Midwest Sports+. This individual will be integral to developing and executing social media strategies, managing live sports streams, creating original sports content, and collaborating with both digital and broadcast teams to grow our audience and enhance engagement across platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Social Media Coordination

  • Develop and execute social media strategies across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, Facebook, YouTube)
  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging daily content tailored to each platform
  • Monitor analytics to track performance, engagement, and growth
  • Engage with followers, respond to comments/messages, and foster a sense of community
  • Coordinate social campaigns around key sports events, streaming content, and breaking news
  • Stay up to date on trends in sports and digital media to keep our content fresh and relevant

Digital Content Management

  • Assist in scheduling and managing live sports streams via our platform and app, working closely with broadcast and production teams to ensure quality content.
  • Troubleshoot basic live stream technical issues when needed
  • Clip highlights from live events for social and digital distribution
  • Collaborate with broadcast team to ensure consistent branding and messaging across platforms
  • Work closely with reporters, videographers, and editors to translate stories into digital-friendly formats

Digital Content Creation

  • Produce short-form vertical videos (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) to promote stories, games, or athletes
  • Shoot, edit, and optimize videos for multiple platforms
  • Capture behind-the-scenes moments and in-game content for social audiences
  • Help conceptualize recurring content features or series that showcase Midwest sports culture

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in social media, digital content production, or digital marketing
  • Passion for sports and strong familiarity with Midwest teams, athletes, and fan culture
  • Proficiency in tools like Adobe Premiere, Canva, Photoshop, or CapCut
  • Experience with live streaming tools and platforms is a plus
  • Excellent writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends during sports seasons. This candidate should live and be able to work in the greater Sioux Falls, SD metro area. Some travel may be required.

Expected compensation for this role is between $40,000 and $50,000/year, based on qualifications and experience.
