Job summary

Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island is seeking a Digital Literacy Instructor to teach in-person and online computer literacy to ESL learners, evaluate progress, and support technology programs within the adult education classes.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and prior experience in teaching digital literacy, especially with diverse populations. The position offers generous benefits and a 36-hour work week onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience teaching computer literacy.
• Experience with ELL or diverse populations.
• Experience using educational software/tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement digital literacy lessons for ESL learners.
• Instruct email, online safety, and cybersecurity; use Google Workspace and MS Office.
• Incorporate the NorthStar Digital Literacy Curriculum and proctor tests.
• Support learners in job applications, resumes, and online job searches.
• Offer both individualized and group instruction; monitor progress and provide feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues and community organizations.
