SUMMARY: The Dennis-Yarmouth Middle School seeks a dynamic educator who cares about the whole student and wants to implement a digital literacy/computer science curriculum for our students in grades 6 and 7. This individual will teach all students a variety of technology skills through their instruction. As technology continues to impact society, students need to understand this impact and how to use technology effectively as a problem-solving tool.
The Dennis Yarmouth Regional School District is willing to assist all applicants in acquiring any necessary certifications for this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Teach all students in the ability to use, assess, and work with technology, i.e. to become digitally literate.
- Principles of computer science, digital computing and programming will be implemented.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Digital Literacy/Computer Science by MA DESE, grades 5-12.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher from accredited college or university.
- Knowledge of and the ability plan and implement the MA Digital Literacy/Computer Science curriculum standards.
- Prior successful classroom work experience as a digital literacy/computer science teacher at the middle/high school level preferred.
- Classroom management skills that support students' social emotional learning.
- Experience meeting the needs of diverse learners.
- Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
