Job summary

KMRG, LLC is hiring a Digital Library Librarian to support the USACE Library at the Humphreys Engineer Center in Alexandria, VA. The role focuses on cataloging, metadata, and digitization workflows to ensure interoperability and long-term access to USACE digital collections.

Qualifications

• ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS degree
• 2+ years cataloging across formats
• Cataloging monographs, audiovisuals, maps, manuscripts, rare books
• Knowledge of CONTENTdm, DSpace, Knowvation
• Familiarity with MARC, MODS, Dublin Core
• Experience with digitization and ingestion workflows
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds

Responsibilities

• Original and copy cataloging for materials in various formats
• Create, edit, and maintain metadata for USACE digital collections
• Apply MARC, MODS, and Dublin Core standards
• Identify and correct metadata errors affects discoverability
• Describe monographs, audiovisuals, maps, manuscripts, rare books
• Support digitization and ingestion of publications
• Coordinate with USACE workflows and digital-library platforms
• Handle older/delicate materials during processing
• Maintain metadata quality and accuracy
