Job summary

STERLING NORTH AMERICA INC is seeking an Experienced Digital Laminator for our facility at 70 Corporate Dr, Hauppauge, NY 11788. This full-time graveyard shift role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining digital laminator machines to laminate and finish products per specifications.

You will review job specs, select laminating materials, and enter positions into the computer, ensuring quality and adherence to standards. Strong attention to detail and basic math are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with printing equipment, maintenance and repairs.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions, order ticket, press imposition, and rule-up sheets.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must have basic electronic and computer keyboard knowledge.
• High attention to detail and judgment based on written procedures and guidelines.
• Ability to identify production problems and quality problems.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor digital lamination machine(s).
• Review specifications to determine lamination type and sheet size.
• Measure lamination positions from edge of sheet.
• Select proper lamination sheets and settings for specific jobs.
• Enter lamination positions in proper order into computer memory.
• Remove sheets from load and place on lamination bed.
• Jog and align sheets against laminator guide for lamination.
• Activate computer to move sheets into lamination position.
• Examine laminated material for quality and adjust as needed.
• Inspect finished products for defects and consistency.
• Record job information on load tags and time sheets.
• Change settings, tools, and parts as needed per specifications.
• Ensure all jobs meet quality standards.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Job Details: Level: Experienced, Job Location: 70 Corporate Dr (Home Office) - Hauppauge, NY 11788, Position Type: Full Time/ Tiempo Completo, Education Level: Not Specified/ No Especificado, Salary Range: $17.00 - $20.00 Hourly, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: Graveyard/ De Noche, Job Category: Manufacturing/ Manufactura, Position Purpose and Objectives: Under the direction of the Digital Team Lead, the Digital Laminator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the digital laminator machines to laminate and finish products according to predetermined specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor digital lamination machine(s).
• Review specifications to determine page sequence, type of lamination and page or sheet size.
• Measure from edge of sheet using scale to determine incremental lamination positions from guide.
• Select proper lamination sheets and settings for specific jobs.
• Enter lamination positions in proper order into computer memory.
• Remove sheets of printed or unprinted paper stack from the load and place them on the lamination bed.
• Jog and align sheets against the laminator guide in preparation for lamination.
• Activate computer to move sheets into first lamination position. Activate double hand switches to begin lamination operation.
• Examine laminated material for quality, imperfections and adjust computer program as needed.
• Inspect finished products for defects, alignment, and consistency.
• Remove finished or pre-finished material from the lamination bed and stack on pallets for shipment to the customer or next operation.
• Record job information on load tags and time sheets.
• Change settings, tools, and parts as needed as recommended by manufacturers specifications.
• Ensure all jobs meet Sterling’s and our customers’ quality standards.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
