Corning is seeking a Digital & IT Intern to join the Phoenix Manufacturing team for Summer 2027. You will assist in data collection, dashboard development, and AI-enabled tool evaluation to enhance manufacturing reporting and workflows.

The program offers housing/travel assistance and a final project presentation. Ideal candidates are pursuing IT/CS/data science degrees with strong analytical skills and a willingness to learn.

The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. Position Summary

The intern will join the Manufacturing IT team at the Phoenix Solar Plant, supporting projects that improve the use of data, digital tools, reporting, and workflows across manufacturing and operational processes. This opportunity provides hands-on experience in a technical manufacturing environment while contributing to analytics, process documentation, automation, and evaluation of digital or AI-enabled tools.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Analytics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies, processes, and business concepts quickly.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, organized, and willing to take initiative and learn.
• Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) with a graduation date of December 2027 or later

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, Power Automate, or similar reporting and automation tools.
• Interest in applying AI or digital tools to improve workflows, reporting, or productivity.
• Exposure to manufacturing, operations, industrial systems, or technical data environments.
• Familiarity with data visualization, process mapping, or continuous improvement concepts.

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
