System One is seeking to hire a Digital I&C Process Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity, with a remote work model.
The Digital I&C Process Engineer reports to the I&C System Engineering group and follows daily direction from the Software Quality Process Lead. The role involves developing procedures, plans, and instructions to implement the Digital Component Software Quality Program for a Molten Chloride Reactor Experiment, in line with project schedules.
Responsibilities
- Alignment Assessment: Evaluate and provide input on corporate digital procedures and tools for use in the project digital component lifecycle process, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Procedure Development: Develop and implement procedures, forms, work guides, tools, and training materials related to the digital component lifecycle, including design control, configuration management, and engineering processes.
- Process Documentation: Author process documents, including procedures and plans, using the selected requirements and methods for the project.
- Training Material Creation: Develop training and familiarization materials to prepare individuals for designing, developing, and delivering digital components to the process.
- Cross-Discipline Coordination: Coordinate with other departments for cross-discipline procedure reviews and support the implementation of tools.
- Change Management Support: Assist in the change management process and the rollout of training and processes related to digital component lifecycle procedures.
- Digital Development Review: Review the development status of digital components in the non-nuclear scale mockup for the project, ensuring progress and compliance with requirements.
- Transition Planning Support: Assist in planning the transition of digital components from the non-nuclear scale mockup phase to the quality implementation phase for project deliverables.
Ideal Background
- B.S. or higher in relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university.
- 3 years of nuclear energy engineering experience or 5 years writing nuclear power plant procedures.
- 2 years of experience in NQA-1 Subpart 2.7.
- Preferred experience with IEEE 1012 or EPRI processes for digital component design, development, and procurement.
- Experience writing guides or instructions to support processes and procedures.
- Experience generating training materials.
- Digital development experience from requirement definition through testing.
- Ability to work in a team, communicate effectively, and resolve issues with stakeholders.
