Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking an Applications Development Specialist to join the Musculoskeletal Digital Innovation and Informatics (MDI2) Program. Work with biomedical engineers, orthopedic surgeons, and data scientists to develop, maintain, and deploy interactive software applications and informatics systems that support translational research and clinical care of musculoskeletal conditions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
Proficiency in Python with CS fundamentals and OO design.
Experience with frontend technologies for interactive UIs is preferred.
Experience with Django, REST APIs, SQL, and cloud hosting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Research software requirements with emphasis on user-facing layouts and interactive workflows.
Designs, develops, tests, and deploys scalable software applications with modern UIs.
Resolves problems using basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.
Coordinates delivery, manages version control, code hosting, and cloud deployment workflows.
Produces and maintains documentation for processes, code, and deployment.
