State of Ohio’s Department of Commerce is seeking a dedicated professional for digital forensics within the Division of the State Fire Marshal. You will examine digital evidence from fires and explosions and testify to findings in court, while helping educate investigators statewide.

Qualifications

• Completion of undergraduate core program in forensic science, biology or chemistry with coursework to include forensic science, analytical chemistry & law enforcement; 1 yr. pertinent laboratory experience.
• For Department of Commerce only: completion of undergraduate core program in computer forensics, digital forensics, multi-media, forensic science, or related field with 1 yr. pertinent laboratory experience; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform digital evidence examinations (video, audio, mobile devices) on items from fires and explosions incidents across Ohio.
• Testify in court regarding results of examinations.
• Provide presentations and trainings to investigators across Ohio.
• Be an integral part of a team operating under an ANAB ISO 17025 Accreditation program.
