Job summary

Field previews and evidence handling are key components of daily duties. Preferred candidates hold a degree in digital forensics or computer science and have 1–2 years in related fields, with CFCE/A+ type certifications preferred.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Digital Forensics, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • 1–2 years' experience in Digital Forensics, Computer Programming or related field.
  • Non-vendor specific certification preferred (e.g., CFCE, A+).
  • Knowledge of state and federal statutes helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze computer forensics cases and prepare reports for investigations.
  • Receive and handle digital evidence following procedures and guidelines.
  • Conduct field previews of computers and digital media.
  • Use forensic tools to search devices for relevant data and document findings.
  • Prepare case materials and exhibits for potential testimony.
  • Support investigators with programming plans and follow-up considerations.
  • Develop and install new equipment; contribute to policy development.
