Job summary

Envista Forensics is seeking a Digital Forensic Intern to gain hands-on experience in digital investigations. You will work closely with experienced analysts and team leaders on real-world cases, including data collection, analysis, and reporting from our Raleigh lab.

The role emphasizes mentorship, skill-building in forensic methodologies, and opportunities for academic credit. May 2027–August 2027 internship with potential for future opportunities.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (CS, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics or related).
• Preferably in 3rd or 4th year of study.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Practical communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of computer systems, mobile operating systems, and file systems.
• Knowledge of Database Structure and Querying Techniques focusing on applying Python for scripting, data analysis, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Willing to work in the Raleigh, North Carolina Digital Forensics lab.
• Aid in conducting forensic investigations by collecting, preserving, and analyzing digital evidence from computers, mobile devices, and network logs.
• Learn and utilize forensic tools and techniques to extract, analyze, and interpret data.
• Document findings and prepare clear, concise reports detailing investigative processes and outcomes.
• Collaborate with team members to support ongoing investigations and develop new forensic methodologies.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends, forensic tools, and technologies through continuous learning.
