Job summary

True Anomaly, Inc. seeks a Senior Manager of Digital Engineering in a hybrid role based in Denver, CO (and Long Beach, CA). You will own the digital thread across the product data lifecycle, build the platform and in‑house software, and scale the engineering team from junior to staff levels.

You’ll personally write production code early, then lead architecture, drive roadmap, and mentor engineers to deliver secure, compliant systems in a fast‑paced environment with ITAR considerations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years directly managing software engineering teams.
• 8+ years total experience in software engineering or related field with hands-on work.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language (e.g., Go, Python).
• Track record shipping software products or platforms to production on a predictable cadence.
• Experience building or maturing software platforms, systems of record, or workflow automation.
• Strong understanding of cloud, API/integration patterns, data modeling, and data consistency.
• Ability to translate business priorities into technical strategy and communicate across levels.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident per ITAR.

Responsibilities

• Hire, coach, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, from early‑career to staff level.
• Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support career development for direct reports.
• Foster a collaborative, high‑ownership culture in fast‑paced, high‑stakes conditions.
• Manage on‑call and support rotations to keep production software reliable.
• Build early: personally write production code for core platform services and integrations.
• Stay hands-on through design and code reviews, prototyping hard problems, and pairing.
• Deliberately hand off work as the team grows to multiply impact.
• Set and uphold engineering quality, testing, and documentation standards.
• Define and drive the digital thread roadmap across platform and integrations.
• Balance new platform capability with operational load; plan deliveries.
