Job Summary:

The Rollins College Institutional Advancement - Development/Major Gifts team is seeking a Digital Donor Experience Officer to join their team! The Digital Donor Experience Officer will support Rollins College’s fundraising priorities through strategic donor engagement and qualification. Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving, the Digital Donor Experience Officer will manage a large segment of alumni, parents, and friends using a multi-channel outreach strategy that includes phone, email, text messaging, virtual meetings, and other digital communication tools. This position serves as a critical bridge between annual giving and major gifts by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors while uncovering prospects with the capacity and inclination for major and planned gift philanthropy.

The Digital Donor Experience Officer executes a high volume of strategic outreach and employs a disciplined moves-management approach to build meaningful relationships at scale, increase participation and support for the Rollins Annual Fund, and develop a robust pipeline of prospects for major and planned gift fundraising.

In addition, this position serves as a communications ambassador for Institutional Advancement by developing, coordinating, and delivering compelling donor-facing communications across digital channels. The successful candidate will leverage storytelling, content creation, audience segmentation, and multi-channel communication strategies to promote engagement, strengthen donor relationships, enhance the College's philanthropic image, and advance the institution's mission through philanthropy.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage and actively engage a high-volume portfolio of 1,000+ assigned alumni, parents, and friends through personalized outreach designed to increase annual fund giving, secure leadership-level gifts, identify prospects for future major and planned gift cultivation, , and strengthen long-term donor relationships.
  • Conduct discovery conversations and qualification meetings to assess philanthropic interests, engagement, giving capacity, and readiness for further cultivation. Document all interactions and maintain accurate constituent records within the College’s fundraising, engagement, and constituent relationship management systems.
  • Develop and execute strategic communication and engagement plans for assigned prospects using a variety of channels, including email, phone, text messaging, video messaging and meetings, social media, and other digital engagement tools such as podcasts. Creates individualized cultivation strategies and establishes next steps to advance prospects through the donor pipeline.
  • Develop, write, edit, and distribute donor-centric communications, digital content, and storytelling pieces designed to strengthen engagement, increase philanthropic participation, promote institutional priorities, and support fundraising objectives.
  • Create and manage multi-channel communication campaigns across email, text, social media, video, podcast, and other digital platforms to promote Advancement initiatives, cultivate donor relationships, enhance stewardship efforts, and improve the overall donor experience.
  • Executes weekly, monthly, and quarterly communication touchpoints (averaging 35+ digital outbound touchpoint cadences per day) across pool to ensure timely and relevant donor communication.
  • Solicits Rollins Annual Fund and leadership annual giving commitments, and partners with colleagues across Institutional Advancement to enhance donor engagement and retention.
  • Develops and implements meaningful digital experiences to support donor relations for highest-priority donors and prospects across Advancement, including the use of podcasts.
  • Produce, curate, and distribute content that highlights donor impact, student success, institutional priorities, philanthropic opportunities, and the value of private support for Rollins College.
  • Collaborate with Advancement Marketing and Communications colleagues to ensure messaging, branding, content strategy, and storytelling efforts are aligned with institutional goals, Advancement priorities, and the College's desired public image.
  • Promote and enhance the visibility and reputation of Institutional Advancement through strategic communications and digital engagement initiatives that strengthen relationships with alumni, parents, donors, and friends of the College.
  • Identify and refer qualified major and planned gift prospects to the prospect management team, as appropriate, providing detailed information regarding donor interests, philanthropic priorities, and engagement history.
  • Serve as an instrumental team member in the evaluation and implementation of technology and digital communication platforms that support donor engagement, fundraising effectiveness, audience growth, and constituent communications. Utilize fundraising software, reporting tools, and portfolio management systems to track activity, monitor progress toward goals, analyze results, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Individual performance metrics will be set annually based on assigned portfolio and include measures such as:
    Digital touchpoints executed: Total number of outbound communications (emails, texts, social media messages, calls) initiated by the officer to their portfolio.
  • Portfolio engagement rate: Percent of the assigned portfolio that has engaged through digital channels (e.g., opened an email, clicked a link, responded to a text/message, participated in a virtual/phone call)
  • Contact reports filed (weekly/monthly): Consistency and completeness of documenting digital interactions and engagement in the CRM.
  • Donor acquisition: The number of new or reactivated donors secured through digital outreach efforts.
  • Major gift prospect identification: The number of new major- and planned- gift prospects identified and qualified.
  • Serve as a resource for digital communications, audience engagement, content strategy, social media outreach, and best practices related to donor communications and constituent engagement.
  • Collaborates with colleagues across Advancement to support fundraising initiatives, College philanthropic priorities, volunteer engagement efforts, and donor stewardship activities.
Minimum Qualifications & Education:
  • Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing and/or Business.
  • At least one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in professional fundraising, public relations, marketing, higher education fundraising, development, sales, digital communication; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across various mediums with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Apply creative and entrepreneurial thinking while applying sound judgment and conducting oneself with integrity
  • Articulate a strong and compelling case for support; Enthusiasm to ask for philanthropic support for priority areas.
  • Experience in video creation or digital marketing and proficiency in using digital communication tools (e.g., MS Teams, ThankView, and Canva).
  • Ability to learn and utilize fundraising platform, CRM database, email and texting marketing platforms, reporting tools, and other technology/systems.
  • Strong organizational skills, prioritization, and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented professional with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Positive, with a team-first, optimistic attitude. Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and is committed to shared success.
  • An aptitude for numbers, data, and analysis is essential. Strong Excel and analytical skills are necessary for data management and interpreting prospect data to determine donor potential.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Handle confidential information, maintain and update files with a high degree of accuracy, and sensitivity to the importance of alumni and donor relations.

Work Environment:
  • Campus-based, customer service role in an office environment, offering some opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.
  • Regular use of a computer and databases.
  • Employees are required to use their personal cell phones for work-related communications and tasks, including but not limited to responding to emails, attending virtual meetings, and accessing College applications.
