Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking a Digital Design Engineer II to develop FPGA hardware and embedded microcontroller solutions. You’ll join a skilled team and collaborate with disciplines across the Electronics Systems domain to solve complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities include HDL code for FPGAs (Altera/Intel, Xilinx/AMD), writing interface documents, testing, and fielding support. A Bachelor's in EE/CE and 2–4 years in FPGA or digital design are required, with the ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 2 to 4 years of FPGA or digital design experience.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Developing code for FPGAs (Altera/Intel or Xilinx/AMD) and/or embedded microcontrollers (Atmel, Microchip, etc.)
• Solving complex problems that may require research and analysis of alternatives involving many factors.
• Writing interface control documents, specifications, and test procedures for designs.
• Reporting status including schedule progress and problems/issues.
• Working closely with hardware in a lab setting, and debugging using lab equipment (e.g. Spectrum Analyzer, Digital Oscilloscope).
• Working independently to determine and develop innovative solutions.
• System testing for products you’re a part of and aid with fielding and/or training of the customer.

About This Role

Textron System, Electronic Systems, is seeking a Digital Design Engineer to develop solutions for a variety of technical challenges. The Digital Design Engineer will engage in a variety of technical projects including Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) hardware and firmware design, and embedded microcontroller design and development. You will be part of highly skilled team and need to interface with other team members, including those of other engineering disciplines

Qualifications

Required Skills and Expereince:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• 2 to 4 years of experience in FPGA, digital design, or related engineering work
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog
• Knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) systems and concepts
• Experience leading teams on complex design projects
• Experience with MATLAB and Simulink

$88,200 - $133,000 per year.
