Job summary

The Eighth Judicial Circuit Court in Gainesville, Florida, seeks a Digital Court Reporter to record and annotate court proceedings, transcribe recordings, and prepare final transcripts using the Open Court monitoring system. This is an in-office role reporting to the Court Reporting Manager.

Required: High School diploma or GED with one year of college or vocational education in office skills, plus two years of related work experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with one year of college or vocational education in office skills.
• Two years of related work experience.
• Additional relevant education may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Type a minimum of 55 words per minute and transcribe digitally recorded court hearings.
• Annotate and proofread transcripts to prepare final documents.
• Maintain logbooks and weekly reports, and generate duplicate audio recordings as needed.
• Monitor live or recorded proceedings and review with headphones and monitor.
• Perform clerical tasks related to court reporting and transcripts.
