Job summary

Merrimack College in North Andover, MA seeks a Digital Content Producer for Athletic Communications to produce high-quality photography, videography, and digital content across 28 NCAA Division I teams.

You will drive fan engagement, support marketing initiatives, plan game-day promotions, and maintain Merrimack’s visual identity. Expect evenings, weekends, and travel as needed. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, digital media, graphic design, video production, marketing, or a related field.
  • One to three years of experience creating digital content in collegiate athletics, professional sports, higher education, or a related field (graduate assistantships and internships considered).
  • Exceptional visual storytelling skills with a creative mindset.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, etc.
  • Experience operating professional cameras, video equipment, lighting and audio equipment.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices for digital storytelling.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as required by athletic schedules.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Capture and produce high-quality photography and videography at athletic contests, practices, community events and other department functions.
  • Create compelling digital content, including highlight videos, feature stories, interviews, behind-the-scenes content, hype videos, and promotional campaigns.
  • Design graphics for use across social media, website, email marketing, digital signage and other athletic communications platforms.
  • Collaborate with coaches, athletic communications, marketing, etc. to develop creative content that supports the priorities of the department.
  • Assist in planning and executing content calendars that promote athletic events, student-athlete accomplishments, ticket sales, fundraising initiatives and special events.
  • Edit video and photography using industry-standard creative software to produce engaging content optimized for multiple digital platforms.
  • Capture content during home and away competitions, as assigned, including evenings, weekends, and select travel.
  • Maintain an organized archive of photography, video footage and creative assets and publish on the athletics website.
  • Stay current on emerging trends in social media, photography, videography, graphic design and digital storytelling.
  • Operate and maintain photography, video, lighting and editing equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission of Merrimack College Athletics.

Digital Content Producer, Athletic Comms

Salary Range: $40,000.00 To $50,000.00 Annually

Position Description:

The Merrimack College Athletic Department seeks a qualified candidate to fill the role of Digital Content Producer, Athletic Communications. The full-time, benefited position will report to the Assistant Athletic Director of Strategic Communications and work with the Athletic Communications team.

The position will produce high-quality photography, videography, graphic design and other digital content that enhances the Merrimack Athletics brand and showcases the student-athletes who represent the College’s 28 NCAA Division I teams. The position will help drive fan engagement, support marketing initiatives, assist with game-day promotions and fundraising campaigns all while maintaining the visual identity and brand standards of Merrimack Athletics.

The successful candidate will be experienced with social media platforms such as X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc., and must be willing to work when our teams play – nights, weekends and the potential for holidays. The candidate will work in accordance with NCAA Division I guidelines and Merrimack College rules, regulations and policies.

Primary Responsibilities:

Capture and produce high-quality photography and videography at athletic contests, practices, community events and other department functions.

Create compelling digital content, including highlight videos, feature stories, interviews, behind-the-scenes content, hype videos, and promotional campaigns.

Design graphics for use across social media, website, email marketing, digital signage and other athletic communications platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:
